Iyengar Yoga para a Menopausa
Evento Navigation

In this special class, Sara Marasso invites us to a session dedicated to the practice of Iyengar yoga tailored to perimenopause and menopause/andropause.
We will explore in greater depth some postures that promote awareness, openness and strengthening of the pelvic region. Through this ancient practice, we will rediscover our own psychophysical complexity, which becomes even more evident during the menopause. As a process of hormonal change that manifests not only through alterations in body temperature, skin or joints, but also affects mood, emotional sensitivity, sleep and desire, this stage of life offers a precious opportunity to hear more clearly the invitation that our own bodies – and those of others – extend to us for greater attentiveness, sensitivity and care.
About Sara:
A choreographer and dancer with a Master’s degree in dance from the University of Paris VIII, Sara Marasso was introduced to yoga some twenty years ago at the Iyengar Yoga school in Turin. She went on to deepen and refine her practice through encounters with Sharat Arora, Stéphane Lalo and Lois Steinberg, and, having developed an interest in the non-dual yoga tradition of Kashmir, with Nuno Cabral in Lisbon. She has been a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher through the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in India since 2014. At this time she began teaching alongside her artistic research. In addition to one-to-one classes, she regularly organizes workshops that combine yoga practice with live music, as well as with other somatic and dance practices.
